The nice thing about taking our own (rental) car is that we were able to leave the 5K as soon as we were finished. Otherwise, you have to wait until 6:30 AM for the buses to start getting back. We both finished the races before 5:30 AM, so we would have had to sit there for an hour, thinking about how we could be showering, getting breakfast, and getting ready for rope dropping.
Yup, not worth it! So we drove on back to the hotel. Got ready, and got this breakfast:

You can’t eat these on the bus, so I just had to sit there smelling it instead.

And we are here! Time to finally eat the Mickey cinammon roll. Quick, someone take that photo where you cover up the IM in ANIMAL.

Nah, the sunrise is too pretty for that.

Out of my way, fellow Early Entry peeps! I walk faster than you. >:-(
I only took 120mg caffeine on this morning, before leaving for the race. This would turn out to be a mistake as we will soon see.

Yay, Tree of Life!

First animal of the day!

Everest and Safaris are both closed (geez), so Dinosaur it is.

Kewl

Feels good to be at the front with almost no line! Man I love Early Entry.

Well, that was fun!

Everesst was still closed, so Safaris it is.

But first we’ve gotta admire Ev for a bit.

All right, Safaris queue!

Love cheetahs.

LAME, I drive faster than that when I go to Target to pick up Lunchables

All these animals FREELOADING off the government and our hard-earned tax dollars!

Lightning Lanes are looking pretty good. Really excited for FOP.

And here we are on the excellent Kilimanjaro Safaris! It sure is a comfy ride with lots of gentle rocking. Would be a shame if someone…Fell asleep.

Rhino!

The animals are so far away and hard to see in these pics, it’s like you’re on safari with us! How realistic.

Yeah so I fell asleep. Straight up conked out. I could feel it coming on and I had to put away my phone because I was worried I’d plunge into a microsleep and drop it into the safari.
so, don’t only take 120mg of caffeine on a park day I guess.

Anyway, after the safari, it was time for more exploration!

I didn’t get this but I liked it.

Then it was Pandora time! I had my LL ready to go. Aspen doesn’t like FOP so it was just me on this one. We didn’t want to wait for Na’vi this round since it had already amassed quite the line and we only had 2 total major park days.

Cool.

Pre-show!
It was a fantastic ride as usual. I never want to get off (and I really need to watch Way of Water, geez).

These trading cards looked pretty cool. Not quite enough to get a pack myself, though.

Y’all know what it is next…EVEREST! I met back up with Aspen here who had already been hitting up the single rider queue. Rode quite a few times. We both did single rider every time. Talked to a few other 5K runners who were also wearing their Groot shirts.
Got some on-ride photos too:

I think I’ve gotta get some more Rogaine after that last one.
After Everest, we went shopping a bit. I resisted the temptation to get a Magic Band. And those shorts seen below did not have size Small or even Medium or Large. Only XL and above left.

Then a few more photos and, well, we were getting hungry. So off to Epcot!

On the bus with these good people.
