I have considered the four following axes, which I call TAO-F because Tao is the name of a cool math guy and adding the -F makes it seem sciencey.
Technical: Understanding engineering, mechanics, queueing theory, ride manufacturers, and history.
Artistic: Understanding design choices, aesthetics, strategic placement of scenery and shade, thematic elements, etc.
Operational: Mastering touring plans, optimizing around crowds, understanding the practical and day-to-day. Knowing each of the rides, the park layout, hours, queue times, etc.
Fan: Are you walking around Disney with a Loungefly and have seen all the movies? Do you know the latest news? Do you count coaster credits? Do you confuse people with your rapid fire abbreviations, like “MK”, “DCA”, “Mav”, and “Millie”? Do you create your own? (I like to call Cannibal the Can-Can)
This is extremely nerdy, and that’s kind of the whole point. The objective for me is to maximize all four axes, to be the most diehard enthusiast I can be.
