I am still working on the rest of my Orlando trip report but I just need to mention this. As spring weather has finally arrived, I’m starting to get really excited for summer to get here. The LAB is listed as opening at 10 AM instead of noon, meaning that I can avoid the long lines of soccer moms.
Of course, this also means that I will have to decide whether I want to ride Cannibal and Primordial or just go straight to the water park once summer hits.
Let me tell you — rope-dropping LAB is a lovely experience. At 10 AM, the weather is usually in the 70s and warm enough to swim in, but everyone is busy at the dry park. So, you can get all the slides done very quickly, and be taking a nap in the lazy river — all essential rides done — when the crowds hit.
If you’re already sunscreened up and in your swimsuit, too, you can get a coveted seat in the shade on a deck above the lagoon. Drop your stuff and head straight for the speed slides.
To add to this, Memorial Day Weekend is extremely early this year. This means that when you’re waiting in line for a slide, you will be able to relax knowing that it’s not even the final weekend in May yet, and you have all the way until September for summer sliding.
Could this be a typo? Or over-optimism on Lagoon’s part about how many lifeguards they are going to hire? Or, are we going to get lucky and have a 10 AM opening again?
We’ll find out as May approaches.
