There are a few new slides I’ve heard about, which give us something awesome to look forward to next summer!
First off, the Lindon Pool is building a new speed slide. They closed early this season, probably so they can finish construction before winter (my best guess). On my last trip there, I noticed that there was a large patch of dirt with some orange markers next to the lazy river. I wonder if that’s where they will be putting the new slide — most likely.
Additionally, Cowabunga Bay Draper is constructing a new mat racer slide called Surfin’ USA! This looks like it will be a clone (or something similar) of the slide with the same name at their Las Vegas location. Considering that Cowabunga Bay Draper has previously been comprised entirely of body slides, it will be interesting to see where they put the mat racer (there doesn’t seem to be much room, and I sure hope they don’t take anything out) and how they will handle the distribution of mats. Let’s hope they don’t hang them on metal racks like Splash Summit, because I really don’t want to bang my head on one of those again.
Anyway, we’ve still got three more weekends of outdoor water park season left. And when the inevitable last day of the season arrives, there will be a lot to look forward to in summer of 2022.
