Trip Report: Zion National Park, 6/06/2020

Posted by

My family and I had an enjoyable visit to Zion National Park this past Saturday. We did some excellent hikes. I am including national parks in this blog because for all intents and purposes, hiking in a national park is just an advanced version of walking in a community park. And both types of parks, to me, can teach us some valuable lessons about creating visually beautiful theme parks.

We did not go inside of the visitor’s center for some reason, possibly due to restrictions, but I cannot recall.

We start this off with some clever signage from one of the gift shops.
Aww, how sweet. Although I actually thought this said “Home is where your horny is” at first, which is why I took a picture of it. 😀
We ate lunch at Jack’s Sports Bar. Don’t deny your love, bathroom stranger.
My dad playing with my aunt’s dog, Cooper Jr., just outside the national park.
Aha! We made it into the park! With capacity restrictions, that isn’t an easy feat. We were extremely fortunate.
Ye
So inspirational!
Read the fascinating sign!
Just outside the visitors’ center. I think.
Some random dude’s head
MAJESTIC.
So peaceful. And the temperature today was perfect. This is just what I needed this week.
Crystal clear, cool water.
tree
Can’t get enough of them big red cliffs.
Ah, now this is a most lovely walking path! On our way to the Emerald Pools.
Water seeps from the rocks.
HEYEEYAYEEYAY, I said hey, what’s going on?
And I cry, oh my gosh do I cry…
I cry all the time…
IN THIS INSTITUTION!
The peaceful pools, with a tiny waterfall in front of us, buffeted about by the wind. Also, the color of that water is not emerald.
The mossy wall
A beautiful bridge…
River
River again
After Emerald Pools, we headed over to the Narrows.
When the earth was young
And the air was sweet
AND THE MOUNTAINS KISSED THE SKY!
Looking skyward…<3
I sure hope there isn’t a flash flood right now, because we’re all gonna die.
Splash down in the silver screen, into a deep dramatic scene.
Yep, really hope there isn’t a flash flood. Also, hi random people that I will never see again.
*bellows* In this WILDERNESS, of DANGER and BEAUTY!
If it had just been a tiny bit hotter…I would’ve been in that water.
He will go down, he will drown, drown, deeper down…
I like quoting song lyrics, apparently.
I’d never leave if it were up to me.
Such a great trip!

Overall, this was a ridiculously fun excursion. We stayed in a rental house in Hurricane and I’ve never slept better!
