Trip Report: Lagoon, 3/27/2021

My second Lagoon trip of the season was much prettier than the first! I went with a few friends, we went from opening to closing, and we had a great time.

First off, the line to get into parking was PACKED, so that pushed us back like 30 minutes. After getting all that sorted out, Ben and I went to ride Cannibal a few times while Lizzie went to pick up her physical season pass.

Oh, Cannibal is so beautiful!
Ah yes, Samurai. Such a great Top Scan!
Oh yeah, Air Race!

Air Race was running a bit weird. Some of the planes never took off. Thankfully, after observing 2 rounds, we saw that the purple airplane had a 100% success rate of properly flipping (as you can see here). It was ultimately a very good choice.

It’s funny how I used to get crazy nervous on Sky Ride, because I didn’t feel like I was strapped in enough. LOL. I love it now. It’s so peaceful, to glide barely above the treetops.
Jet Star was finally open! Though we didn’t get to ride it since it kept breaking down, and we weren’t sure how they would handle 3 riders when you generally need an even number.
Colossus the Fire Dragon is always a classic. Thank you, Schwarzkopf, for this masterpiece.
ROLLER COASTER…Though I really want to call it the Lagoon Dipper now. I like that name better. This is my favorite woodie (lol, Alex said a funny word!!!!!) atm.
I’m ready for those trees to spring back to life, ngl…
I love Turn of the Century so much. Mainly due to its location. If it wasn’t over that gorgeous lagoon, it wouldn’t be nearly as special. <3

After Turn of the Century, we got some lunch at the Mexican Hat. I ate a delicious burrito, and only felt it slightly on le Spooder-Scooter. And once more I am incredibly grateful that I was blessed with psuedo-immunity to motion sickness.

Also, I still think nobody is operating the funnel cake stand near Cannibal, though I admittedly forgot to check. Still, on a hot summer’s day, I’m going to want my Oreo funnel cake.

It was still pretty cold, so we skipped Cliffhanger. These people didn’t, though.

a nice view of the pillar
spoodles
Rocket and Paratrooper were both a blast! We did Re-Entry for Rocket!
Sky Scraper is always a bit unnerving, especially if there’s wind, but you do enjoy lovely views. And we did just a tiny bit of spinning, which was fun (if a bit freaky, lol)!
This fountain is SO pretty.
YAY, Bombora! I looked wistfully towards Lagoon-a-Beach and reminded myself that it’s only a few more months now until I am zipping down Liquid Lightning and floating half-asleep down Mooch’s Mainstream!
Yay!
OH YEAH, it’s time for Colossus again!!! I mean hey, it’s Utah, there aren’t many coasters here. 😀
After Colossus, we managed to hit Roller Coaster again…4 more times. The guy who checks your wristbands just kept letting us on again and again, probably because they hadn’t yet figured out closing time protocols, and the girl in the operating booth was pissed. It was hilarious.
After Roller Coaster, somehow the carousel was still operating despite the park having closed 30 minutes prior. So Lizzie and I hopped on, while Ben was too school for cool and elected to spectate. This horse is now named Alastor, pls say hi and that you love him, thanks. *Last Ride of the Day by Nightwish plays in the background* <3 I really do think we were the last ride of the day!

After closing, we went to JCW’s in Lehi to grab some delicious burgers, fries, and shakes!

I saw this on one of the soda machines and it made me chuckle. Don’t you just love diet water?

Overall, it was just a fantastic day. I am glad I went to Lagoon on the 20th for my long-awaited opening day, and I am glad we got to go on the 28th for a much more pleasant day weather-wise! It started out warm, got super cold in the afternoon, and then warmed up again in the evening. By the time we left JCW’s it was cold again. All in all, a great second trip of the season!
