This was a really packed day! My parents were in town, and I was really excited for all the activities. While I had a blast, I didn’t get on any rides like I was hoping to do.
The highlight of Scheels is usually their Ferris wheel. Especially in the depressing Utah winters devoid of amusement rides, Scheels is an oasis.
Too bad it was closed. 😐
I’m not sure if it was closed due to the kid who fell off of it, or because of covid panic, but regardless there was no riding it for us that day.
Well hey, we’re not even at the aquarium yet and we’re already seeing feesh. What is this, a crossover episode?
I really like artsy, architecturally-incorporated fish tanks like this one.
I want this :V
spoopy
I like this one better 🙂
Why must I want what I can’t have? D:
They had a very cool shooting range attraction. Shooting ranges aren’t really my thing, but this one was very well put together.
Ah yes, more taxidermy.
Then it was time to check out some tents.
You know, I enjoy camping if I a) get my own tent, and b) have an easily-accessible, real bathroom nearby. And c) am not in bear country, and d) am not anywhere near the Boy Scouts. (sorry)
My uncle has one of these. I actually might come back and buy one.
I like the ones that are open to stargazing.
And to finish off our Scheels trip, we have a picture of m’goodbear who needs more tendies .
Scheels was overall pretty fun, even though we didn’t get the Ferris wheel ride that I was hoping for. But we couldn’t stay long, because we had a reservation for…The Loveland Living Planet Aquarium! 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀
The aquarium is looking quite lovely on this spring afternoon!
A fun little informative plaque about the…thingy.
Aww. How cute.
Looking up!
Oh hey, I can see Cowabunga Bay from here. Only about a month until it opens! Yay!
Walking around the little path
Ah yes, the desert colors.
This looks like a fun playground! Are we going to be able to play on it, though? Lol, no.
He do be chilling
One of my favorite things to do here = playing with the water toys. 😀
But enough screwing around outside. It’s time to see some fish!
In the hot and humid jungle, there are some lil birbs.
The pipes look super cool.
And so does this!

So I guess these things live under the arches in the water or something. I cannot recall.
OMG so cuuuute!
She said that I’m cool…I’m like yeah, that’s true.
Yes, it does hurt.

Hi turtle!
SO cool to stand in the tunnel underneath all the sharks.
Also a really neat view. Would love to go into that room on the other side.
Following around Mr. Ray under the sea 🙂
Cool turtle 🙂
and a fun shark or two
More awesome sharks!
And I got a shirt!
Overall, it was a great time at the aquarium. Next, it was time for Liberty Park, which I was quite excited about, but alas it was not to live up to my expectations…
Here we are, at Liberty Park…gonna ride some fun rides yes?
But first let’s check out the playground! Not bad.
Nice plaque thing.
There are some nice sand pits
Pretty!
Here is a map of the park!
historic building thing!
Very nice, very nice. But let’s get to the rides.
On our way to the rides we see this nice feature…
Okay, enough of that crap. Let’s get on some RIDES!
Oh wait…
HEYYYY, NOT FAIR! This is depressing!!!!
It’s not even running! Not cool!
So I checked on the facebook page today (8/22) and it appears that they DID open at some point during the summer. I will try to go there again as part of a Lagoon trip.
But anyway, for now screw this. Let’s go to the Tracy Aviary. But let’s go outside of it because ain’t nobody got cash for that.
Here is a map of the aviary we aren’t going to go inside of!
And here’s what it looks like up front.
Looks lovely.
A nice path
Trees!
Alone on the outside, so tired of looking in… </3
We may be outside, but we can still access a few services without paying admission and going in!
So we went to the little cafe.
Some nice views of the aviary…
…and a really good cookie. Oh man, this was great!
Another fun view…
Cool!
Look at all them SWANS

A little boat dock
But were the paddleboats open? LMAO, no.
Let’s take the bridge
View from the bridge
The gazebo
Yeah
Went to the playground for a bit
fun 🙂
We concluded the day at City Creek Mall, which was awesome.
All in all, it was a busy and crazy fun day. Even despite the Liberty Park rides being closed and the Scheel’s Ferris wheel being closed, there were still a lot of great moments. We did so much that it made me put off finishing this update until 4 months later, haha. And there you have it.
