And it was a good one, all things considered. I still have a major backlog of awesome posts to update, all the way back from when outdoor waterpark season was still in full swing. But, I’ve been going to Lagoon almost every Saturday and have been swamped with homework almost every Sunday (and trust me, this Sunday is no different; I actually need to hurry up and get to church right now). I am happy to say that I spent at least a few of my Halloween hours at Lagoon, for the second to last day of the season!
2020 has been absolute crap, and yet despite that I was still able to finish the season strong! I didn’t get to as many fall festivals as I wanted to (missed out on Rowley’s, Cornbelly’s, and Hee Haw due to time constraints with grad school), but I still made it to some. And I did Frightmares!
I mean, it’s been pretty fantastic actually. I’ve been to Hogle Zoo, Lagoon, Lagoon-A-Beach, Cowabunga Bay (and holy CRAP it is awesome), Splash Summit, Nickel City, the Loveland Living Planet Aquarium, Cherry Hill, the SCERA Park Pools, Wilkerson Farm Fall Fair, tons of rec centers, tons of community parks, multiple national and state parks, the City of Fun Carnival, and the Utah State Fair. And probably other things that I’ve forgotten to update about.
I’ll be straight up: This winter (and late fall of course) aren’t looking fantastic. With the Provo Rec Center shutting down their indoor waterslides and recreational pools, because the big bad evil corona can only get you when you’re having fun, I’m going to have to look at other indoor water parks and see what I can find. If I have to travel to another county to get my fix, then so be it. Otherwise, it’s full-on gaming season, and I am excited to finally finish Pokémon Shield and start playing through my Steam backlog.
I don’t have much hope for California. Newscum seems determined to suck away every aspect of joy out of people’s lives. But, I am super excited for Christmas and seeing family. He will never — I repeat, NEVER — take that away from me.
I need to go to SeaQuest. I keep forgetting about SeaQuest. And St. George should have a waterpark opening next summer, if all goes well.
Anyway, it’s been fun, and hopefully I’ll catch up on updates next weekend.
