Trip Report: Sharon Park, 6/01/2020

A rather jarring layoff this morning caused an abrupt change in my plans for today. Instead of going to Art Dye Park, I decided to check out the smaller Sharon Park, in Orem.

My potential Hogle Zoo membership is pretty much off the table at this point for financial reasons, but at least I already have the Lagoon and Splash Summit season passes, so I can go there for free while poor. Can’t really support local businesses as much now, though. Sorry economy. :/

Sharon Park is pretty. There is a roughly 0.25 mile loop that goes around the whole park. There are tennis courts and a small playground with a swing set.

Here are the tennis courts. Blue, just like my soul.
These hills look like they would be good for some hill sprints. But the park is pretty small, so, maybe not.
Ah, very nice, a few patches of shade. Most of the path is in the sun.
This part goes out onto the main sidewalk.
Here is the playground! It looks like fun, but there’s no shade as you can see. :S
Another shot of the playground. The blue and yellow slide reminds me of Avalanche Racer at Splash Summit.
Sorry for the super gross bathroom pic, but looks like there’s some pretty fresh graffiti here. Somehow, I’m not surprised, with the way the world has been going lately.
Yup.
A peaceful bench.

I sat on the swing for a while, rocking back and forth in a weird sort of daze. Still pretty shell-shocked from what happened today.
Sharon Park has a nice large grassy field, with a view of the Wasatch. Pretty neat stuff.

It was altogether a very quiet and calm afternoon at Sharon Park. It smelled of sunshine and despair. But there was a certain peace to it, watching the trees rustle in the wind and their dappled shadows dance over the concrete path.
